Bits and Pieces

This is a piece I did for 'The Joker' Drawing Jam over at the Drawing Board. I'm in the process of inking and colouring it in my spare time.

But while you're waiting, artist extraordinaire Francesco Francavilla splashed some of his beautiful inkwork over the top and here's the results.

Next is a caricature of Britney Spears. I wasn't trying to be flattering.

I posted the original version of this zombie pic a while back, but I recently reworked it for a tshirt design over at my Cafepress store. I've added a whole bunch of new stuff to the store, so check it out.

Drawing detox

When you've spent the last 48 hours with 3 hours sleep, meeting drawing deadlines of scantily clad Tahitian women and cutesy kids' characters, the mind yearns for the grotesque.

So here are some caricatures...

Drill Sergeant

Done for this week's Illustration Friday topic, 'Clear'.

A lot of fun to do, contrasting the two very different expressions. I added a vintage comicbook appearance by keeping the colours simple and by applying the 'Colour Halftone' filter in Photoshop.

Cheesecake Pinup Art (Nudity)

(Click on thumbnails for the full picture)

Here's some 'good girl art' from the past few years. The Betty Rubble was done as part of a series of cartoon cheesecake pinups for Australian Penthouse magazine. Unfortunately, for various reasons (other work commitments being the main one) I had to pull out from the project and it has since been continued by two other Aussie artists. The other two on the left and right were done as part of Drawing Board's monthly Drawing Jam.

You feelin' lucky, punk?

Here's my take on Clint Eastwood. Dirty Harry's getting on a bit in years, but seeing that his mother is still alive and kicking, he's still got a few more decades in him.

A bunch of other caricaturists over at The Drawing Board are currently having a shot at Clint (one of them being the very talented Jason Seiler), so as I'm guilty of always 'jumping on the bandwagon' I thought I'd give it a go as well. Those wrinkles of his are a caricaturist's dream.
