Happy Birthday, Luke

This was a portrait done of my nephew Luke for his 13th birthday. The idea was to have his interests and hobbies integrated into the mass of hair as if they were extensions of his thoughts.

I had it framed with a surrounding mount and it looked pretty good. My nephew seemed thrilled with it too.

The drawing style is a homage to one of my favourite European comic artists, Jean "Moebius" Giraud.

Wow... the work I see here seems to get better and better. Very awsome. Think anyone in your family would want to adopt a 26 year old art student?

Nice, I like those art pieces that make you look at them for a few minutes because you'll find something else you didn't catch in the beginning.

I hope your little cousin appreciates it. Bet he's gonna be showing it to everybody once school starts.

Soon, each drawing of Giraud / Moebius will become a homage to you.
At the beginning, I thought it was REALLY a drawing of him.
Great

Great work, Chris. I'm glad you didn't get lazy in the hair, which I surely would have done. There is as much uniqueness in each single curl and shape as there is in the figures and objects in the hair. Brilliant.

Glad to see more caricatures and portriature from you. You're one of (if not) THE best.

Hi! I'm Marc, an art director from Barcelona and I've seen your work for V GA in "AdsoftheWorld". Man... I just worship your work. You remind me of three artists on top of my mind: Mäester, Iron, Mulatier. It's so exciting for me to find someone that has your skills. Congratulations, and I hope we can work together sometime. Keep on scrapping!!!
