Edit- Just to clear up any misunderstandings, the woman in the wolf piece is supposed to be a female personification of Jon Snow (a Joan Snow if you will) and not Arya Stark.
Yep these were 99% rendered in BW then colourised at the end. Initially with the first one (the lion) I tried rendering in full colour, but it was just too time consuming and I didn't have the luxury of time.
