Girl sketch video

Update: I've uploaded a new version to Google video (thanks PJ). For best quality, choose 'original size' at the bottom right of the playback console.

This is somewhat of an experiment. If you press the above pic you should see a video of that picture being drawn from start to finish. The first few minutes is me sketching in blue so it may be hard to see. Let me know if it worked or didn't work, and if it was interesting watching.

Chris!

Was looking forward to watching this but it doesn't work on my mac - bah. I've done a similar thing in the past and uploaded to google video which pretty much will run on anything.

Hi Chris,

Good to see you still doing this stuff, remember the Lakemba days? Give me a call 0432967937.Mark Sonntag.

Looks fantastic, Chris. Do you normally draw on your tablet? It looks like you're pretty comfortable drawing digitally. I still have trouble with it and can't let go of good old pencil and paper myself.

PJ- Thanks for the help! It seems to be working fine through Google video, so hopefully there won't be any more problems.

I'll have to watch your inking videos one day too.

k mcleod- Hopefully it should work for you now. Don't forget the first minute or two is me sketching in light blue so it's pretty hard to see, just skip ahead a bit and you should see me start to draw in black.

Heri- Thanks. I used screen capture on the mac to record whilst drawing in Photoshop.

Now that I've worked out the nuts and bolts of it, this will pave the way for my caricaturing video.

Lou/Henry- Hopefully it works for you guys now.

Mark: ah good ol' Lakemba. Every week I came 'round to your office to work and every week we ended up gorging ourselves on fried chicken. Those were the days...:D

Gary- Thanks Gary. I only use my tablet to draw when I want a more rough finish to my inks. You still can't beat the ol' pencil and paper.

Neat. It worked. It is nice to see the process through someone else. I keep telling my self that I need to do some tablet sketching. Maybe this will get me motivated. Anyways, really cool.

Thanks Chris it is playing for me now, I knew that the first part was in light blue but the first time skipping ahead didn't even work but it's smooth sailing now.

Thanks

Heri- Yeah, I'm aiming for sound. You'll all get to hear my dorky voice.

Henry- If my work motivates people to draw more, then I'm happy.

Kevin- Glad to hear you can watch it now. I'm not sure what the problem was earlier.

Lou- Thanks!

HI Eric

Besides having some awesome art, CGTalk also have a great section to their forums discussing techniques for various digital programs. They also mention other links to tutorials etc.

Hope this link helps.
