Hey Chris, thanks for your encouragement. Must be more than 100 days since Heather had the Chicken Pox. I didn't implement the restriction on her diet totally (other than peanuts). I hope the two marks on her pretty face will disappear as she grows. Dad bought some durians last week and Heather didn't want to try them. Hannah, her older sister, likes it though.

Anyway, thanks again for sharing your knowledge and work with us. You are truly talented and your tutorials are kick-ass man!

I like the exaggeration of the tongue on this caricature! Geez! His work is fabulous like what you said.

LOL Hah Chris, thanks for the laugh, this is hilarious and awsome at the same time! I have huge respect for artist who can make great caricatures like these. Sometimes you don't notice peoples funny features, until you see a caricature of them and then you go...of course!

Have a great weekend,

Hans

Sorry I haven't commented in so long. I have been rather preoccupied. I have been enjoying all the caricatures you have been doing. Are you going to put out a caricature book with all of these? If so, let me know. I also appreciated your comments on my blog. Yet again, sorry I haven't commented more, but your stuff is looking great. I did have a question though, how do I get on with some of these online drawing groups. I have been trying to find people to draw with, but haven't been able to find any groups that aren't invite only. I even went to the drawing board, but only found a few people that weren't really interested. Any advice would help. It feels like I stagnate when I draw alone all the time. I prefer seeing other people aproach the same subject so that I can learn. Sorry for the long post, but great work.

christine- Never had the opportunity to try fresh durian. I've had durian icecream before, but it tasted like garlic.

Thanks. Yeah, Mr. Chua's work is truly original.

Nelson- Thanks, Nelson. Glad you like your caricature.

Hans- Thanks for the compliments!

j. nowland- The most recent have taken about 90-120minutes.

jert- Thanks.

ben baker- Thanks, man. Hmmm, can't see the Goofy comparison, though.

Ana- Thankyou!

Henry- Are you referring to the group blogs? Some of these have open invitations where you just email your name to an address provided and they add you to their list. If I come across any in my travels I'll pass them on to you.

Alternatively the Drawing Board Jams and Illustration Friday can be great learning grounds too.

paulsketch- Thanks. Your art looks fantastic for your age.

cdeboda- Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Heri- Thanks, Heri. Hope you had a good birthday.

Keep pushing (your caricatures, that is...)

Hey Chris, this is totally unrelated but I was wondering, master of photoshop that you are, if there is a way to shift a scanned image to pure black and white. My scanner saves automatically to JPEG which makes it impossible to use the fill tool for coloring. All I have is crappy Nova photo explosion. Any ideas?

Daggit- Thanks for stopping by...

anonymous- In Photoshop, go to Image>Adjustment>Threshold and this converts a greyscale image to pure black and white. It's a good idea to have a hi-res image when doing this (300-600dpi) so the 'jaggies' aren't too obvious.
