Michael Jackson
Love, hate, pity or bewilderment...
Whatever you think of the man, there's no denying the impact he's had on popular culture. There's also no denying the extreme physical transformation that Michael underwent in his lifetime...
This was inked using my new toy, the Pentel Brush Pen (synthetic hairs and refillable cartridges. Great!)

Respect the art, not the artist.
WOW. Amazing drawing, man!
Nice piece ! Great work as always.
I knew you would put this up on your blog. ;)
This is a great, great thing.
It sums up the whole sad story in one image -the boy who sang beautifully, and what he gave up to be the world's greatest pop star.
An exceptional piece.
Great work. Awesome art on your blog.
He is the king of pop always and forever! THIS IS REDICULOUSLY AWESOME MAN!!!! You freakin rock!this is one of my favorites fa sho!
WOW man! amazing job... this is awesome in so many ways... i too had to draw the king in honor of his passing!!! but this is awesome!!!!
nice to have a Chris Wahl MJ!
Just splendid ! And so sad...
A striking and eloquent portrait. Great work.
just an ingenious idea, and that's not to mention the fantastic pen work. a perfect example of a great concept and great execution
always an inspiration!
ditto what people said about your piece! :D
I really love all of your work but this is just a very striking/fitting tribute to the man they once called "King".
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Great Tribute, The King would be proud to have it. Chris I was wondering how did you get the your name in a different style text on blog spot.
Great portrait - the young MJ in the glasses is a great touch...
Thanks everyone!
jayday16- The title text for my blog was hand drawn (with additional text added in Photoshop), uploaded to a file hosting site (photobucket etc) and then embedded into the title position. I still use the classic blogger format so it's a bit involved to explain, but if you use the new blogger template it should just be a case of uploading and dragging it into place.
Hope that helps.
thanks Chris I'll try it out and if it works for me. Nice Blog site.

One of the best tributes I've ever seen. Nuff said.
Cool drawing. Funny, how you've drawn the older MJ, he kinda looks like the Grinch. Which is strangely true.
Like I said on the board: Amazing art, amazing idea!
Cheers guys!
nice job! You know I used the pentel brush too a while ago. it's a cool brush. I can see the roughness of the strokes wich adds feeling to it. I like this better than have the lines and strokes be all tight.
He was so beautiful as a young person. Very well done, Chris!
This is fantastic, your ink work is SOOOO Good!
Great concept, great execution, Chris.
Would it be too much to call you amazing??... I don't think so. Love your work man, I always look forward to seeing more.
incredible works!
Thanks for all the comments, guys!
gret drawing...with the best brushpen.
Hi Chris,
Do you know what acrylic medium you would apply to a graphite drawing before applying color. Thanks for sharing all your great tutorials.
You're my new favorite artist. I wish I saw your blog earlier but I'll definitely be coming back.
This is fantastic!!
Nice work!
Congratulations!
Nice to see you and the brush pen are bonding! Looks nice and organic - probably a lot more so than Michael ended up! Great piece.
Thanks again everyone!
Christian- I wish I could help, but most of my colour art is digital. Maybe someone else here can answer your question.
Alex- Thanks mate. Don't forget to check out the gallery section for past works.
Anton- Thanks again for getting me on to these pens, Anton. We're bonding like Peter Parker and his alien symbiote costume.
Amazing piece dude, love it
not the biggest mj fan but this is an amazing amazing design!
